z/Scope Classic is a PC-to-Host Terminal Emulation for accessing to AS/400, IBM Mainframes and UNIX hosts. This is a tool that runs on Windows 98/ ME/ NT/ 2K/ XP/ Vista, etc. platforms. This software is able to fully emulate well known terminals like the TN3270E, TN5250E and VT100/420 protocols. Multi-host/multi-session emulation capabilities are built into the software program. It is able to provide secure access to SSL 2-3, TLS 1.0 and SSH enabled hosts. Multiple emulation sessions can be operated simultaneously and switched quickly and easily through tabs. The tiled view presents up to 4 sessions together. A FTP client built in is aware of AS/400 objects and z/OS datasets, integrated into its tabbed interface.
Though quite intuitive, this tool needs a little familiarization. Skins of the application can be changed easily. Specific connections can be accessed by closing a collapsible panel. The tool has printer emulation that includes send, queue, pause, cancel and even preview you prints. Additional features include integration with Microsoft Office suite. Text in the emulation display can be exported directly to Word or Outlook applications. You are able to revisit the screens that happened earlier from the screen history maintained by the utility. The tool is available in localized versions that include English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Swedish. This is a very good product. If there is a need, this could be a good option for you to consider.
